The boy in the shorts and a shirt thought he was going to tell everybody what to do because he was the tallest and thought he was the smartest. all the other kids pacified him by doing everything that he ordered them to do. It turned the boy into a bully.
There was one boy that never wore a shirt. This enabled the bully set him apart from the other kids and to pick on him. The boy without the shirt never gave into the bully's demands or wavered when the bully made fun of him or threatened him. This enraged the bully enough to challenge the shirtless boy to a fight. The boy without a shirt didn't want to fight but he didn't want to back down to the bully. With that the stage was set. A fight was planned.
Word of the fight spread throughout the neighborhood. The other kids were excited with the nervous anticipation of watching a fight. A fight that they themselves would never be involved in. With that understanding the impending fight was the talk of the town. The date, place and time was set.
On the day of the fight all the kids funneled through the streets to the agreed meeting place of the fight; the abandoned sand lot on the edge of town. When the two juvenile gladiators squared off the other children whistled and hooted, squatted and jumped. With grim anticipation the the children watched the two fighters eye each other up and down, pace in and out sizing each other up. Then with sizzling speed the boy without the shirt punched the bully right in the nose and down to the ground he went and that is where he stayed. The children watching froze in disbelief.
