At the beach, there is a woman she has her hands on her hips. There are children, women, and men on the Beth Parkway in New York. They are on a street. They are all doing different exercises. They are acting so crazy. I don’t know what they are doing. The people don’t know each other. One fellow is talking a picture of a lady who has a purse with his Polaroid, a good one. There is a little girl. She looks like a little girl. Someone is walking their dogs in the background.
There is someone who looks like Jesus, but it’s not him. The one who has got his arms out is saying, “Thank God I’m alive". He is! I say it every morning. He is so happy the sun has come out. The ground is wet. You can tell it rained. He’s saying, “Thank God it stopped raining!” The lady in the center is putting her hand out to see if it really has stopped. It was raining for days. She says, “God is good”. It feels like summer. She says, “Thank God it stopped raining". I don’t know they are just happy to be alive. I don’t know.
There is a fire hydrant in the street. It just came on. It’s the spring, probably in 1930, or it could be October. A car goes by and you hear a swooshing sound. There is laughter and dogs barking with all the rain sounds. They are happy it stopped raining since it rained for a few days. One of the girls are roller skating. You can hear the noise. You can hear them coming. You can hear sounds of steel blades hitting the pavement.
Smells like the bakery. You can’t see it but you can smell it. You can smell the dampness of the air. The aroma brings back memories. Memories of food and baking cookies at Christmas time. They’ll go home. They’ll get out of the rain. They will stop at the bakery and get a loaf of bread, freshly baked bread, some cookies, and donuts. Maybe they’ll get pie too, cherry pie. It'll taste just like fresh cherries. As they’re getting their goodies together another downpour starts. They are not very happy about it, but they enjoy their goodies while they wait for the rain to stop.
