There are 6 horses, and 3 people- they are single. The people own the horses. They’ve owned them for a couple of months to a year. The guys’ names are Mack and Geronimo or Wild Acorn and Willowby Mack or James and Wyatt.
They are 45 or 50 years old. They are called “The 6 Pack” and they are going to entertain nearby weddings, marriages, and whatever things people do to get together to entertain.
Those two are watching the horses and the other guys went to fetch wood and water so they can camp. The middle horse was to transport whatever they were going to carry along.
They’re on an Indian Reservation in the Sierra near Chico. They’re visiting the reservation- they want to buy it. Or they might be renting it for the weekend- looks like they’re throwing a party.
They might be renegades that stole the horses.
They would pilfer the horses at night. All the horses have saddles on them and if they were wild they wouldn’t have the saddles.
It’s 1948, springtime. It’s not that hot, but its not that cold either. It might get cold at night up in the mountains. The blue on the mountains might be pop tents. At night they will bring the horses to the valley. In the morning, they might turn in the horses or they might continue their journey.
