The Family Picnic
They are singing at a family gathering in the park in Manitowoc County.
The boy is the grandson to the older fellow. The boy is Chuck. His grandpa is Fred. They probably don’t get along, because they are close relations! They probably tell each other off every once in a while.
There are other people there with them: Chuck’s cousin Marcy, and his mother whose name is Mary, and also Dorothy, the sister of Grandpa Fred.
Maybe it’s a church picnic where they have services.
It is the month of May. It’s cold outside, or, it’s warm outside. May can be like that: warm or cold. Better bring our sweaters!
They are singing a Patriotic song: “America” or “My Country Tis of Thee.” Also singing with them are Chuck’s mother and sister.
After they’re done singing, they’ll gather up wood for a bonfire. And they’ll enjoy their delicious food: potato salad, hot dogs, beans, hamburgers & bratwurst, and watermelon, with coffee and root beer.
The End.
