“The Feeding Of The Chickens”
This is a lady.
Or it could be a man.
Her name is Ruth.
His name is Peter.
The chickens love this person.
They carry food so the chickens follow.
He's dropping little seeds.
She's walking with the chickens home.
He lives on a farm in Arelee Saskatchewan.
She has to bring the chicken
because it can't walk.
They are at the back of the house .
She treats the chickens like people.
It doesn't look like he has another job.
He is on a farm, and that's his job.
There are a lot of jobs on a farm.
The chickens follow him like a dog.
He daydreams about his house a lot as he walks along.
He also dreams about getting a job in Toronto. Alberta is closer.
He is wearing a sunday hat.
If he goes for a job, he will need to clothe himself properly.
He has some little kids in his family.
The kids love to feed the chickens,
but daddy is doing it.
You can't see what's in his hand, but the chickens are very interested in it.
It might be food.
There is something on his back.
There is something in both hands.
On each side of him is a bush, or a pack with straps?
There is food in the pack.
He is ready to go someplace else.
He has cigarettes in his pack.
And seeds for the chickens.
Extra clothes too.
The chickens are named
"Chick" "chick" "chick" and "Tom".
All different kinds of chickens.
Big ones and small ones.
Chickies rather than Chickens.
There are a few males.
We used to chop the heads off.
I held the head and my brother held the feet and he chopped.
I watched my dad chop chickens.
We also took Rabbits.
It is spring.
His arms are out.
We see a strand of something .
Is he carrying something?
Farmers walk like that anyway.
As he walks he hears "bawk bawk bawk".
He just got out of the shower.
He has a clean shirt.
It doesn't look like he has done any work.
He is just heading out.
Down by the barns it may smell.
Any farm yard smells.
They put something on the ground to clean it.
There is a chair by the steps.
It has little wheels on it.
There are flowers all over the back of the house.
Its Sunny!
He is warm enough without his jacket.
There is a plant behind him.
Something with leaves.
His wife is watching him to make sure he does the right things.
Don't step on the chicks!
Oh Peter for goodness sake , just drop some of those seeds so they will stop following you!
