It’s in the fog, on a quiet country lane, or maybe an early morning at the beach, whenever it was it was cold as both of them are wearing warm jackets and hats. Johnny and Mary have just had a walk together. Or it could be Mother Mary and her son George, George is dragging his feet in the background as mum is walking across the path to get George to school before the bell goes. George doesn’t want to go to school; he doesn’t like it very much so he was hoping that his mother wouldn’t notice that he was trying to walk back home. There might be cows and sheep in the background, or kangaroos hiding in the long grass waiting to jump out and scare George. But he isn’t afraid, He feels tough, until he hears a noise in the grass, then he screams and catches up to his mum. It feels like a winter’s morning, everything is crisp and cold, there is frost on the ground all white and crunchy underfoot and the fog chills them to their bones. They walk faster trying to keep warm. They don’t want to miss their bus, they both know that the heater will be on in the bus and they will start to thaw out. By that time the sun will have risen fully and the fog will begin to lift.
