A woman and a monkey riding on a train looking out the window. They are from New York! Or Central America! Her name is Virginia and the monkey’s name is Mojo. The train is full of people and they are going to act in the circus – Ringling Brothers. She’s got the monkey act! Mojo likes to sit on her shoulder and play with her hat and goes after her keys. There is music like rock and roll and organ music because it’s the circus. We see other animals, all kinds of animals: a zebra, a wonderful bird and acrobats. It’s the 1950’s and they are driving cross-country. Virginia has been in the circus for four years. The circus offers many things like cotton candy, peanuts, cream puffs, pecans and walnuts, popcorn, a ferris wheel and a roller coaster. The weather is 75 degrees, sunny, like it is today. There are also gypsies, an elephant trainer, and you can take the kids on a wagon. Is there an elephant there? Must be! A lion? The lion roars. Virginia looks like somebody I know! She has a family, one brother. Her friends on the street were in the circus. But her family disapproves of her work because it’s dangerous. She is eventually going to become a secretary at the circus but she can’t part with her monkey. Monkey couldn’t go on the bus so she took him on the train and he sometimes sits in the front. They sleep on the train and Mojo sleeps in his cage. Virginia is feeling fine! She looks like it because she is smiling. I used to commute on a train with my girlfriend Delores to Kenosha, commented Virginia. Mojo is a nice monkey, he is special, he’s really smart. He likes to eat peanuts, carrots, lettuce, walnuts, celery and beer! The circus smells like UH-OH!!!! Elephant dung! And sawdust - that’s what they put on the ground to absorb liquids. At 10:00 p.m. they have fireworks until 11 p.m. After they will go home to bed. They live happily ever after!
