The Good Ship “Jersey Janine”
By Joanne, Martha, and Marcus
on Thursday, May 11, 2017
She’s in the lowlands of Jersey after Hurricane Sandy.
She’s all dressed up.
“God help us,” says Joanne.
She just came home from a party.
She’s going to a street fair.
Genesis is her name; Janine is her nickname, “Genesis Aristotle MacNamara”
When you got a name like that you can dress anyway you please!
She doesn’t have a family; she’s the only one left. No brothers or sisters.
Her family was Greek; father was Irish, mother was Greek.
She’s smiling because she’s on her way to the street fair and she’s got a lot of child in her.
She’s looking forward to dancing at the street fair.
She’s the last of 8 siblings.
Her last brother, “Louie” who fought in WWI, died in Hurricane Sandy.
She had another sister who was a caregiver for Louie.
She passed in the hurricane too.
She’s happy in spite of her problems.
Amen
THE END
