The Happy Warblers (with Carol – different image)
Facilitated By Jenny Cowell
May 14, 2013
There is a group of older women - grandmothers and a few grandpas riding tricycles. They are at a retirement center where they live in individual homes in a community. The women started it all for exercise. They are in a warm place, Tucson. They didn't always live in Tucson, they moved for warmth. They are riding to a park with a lunch packed in their baskets. They will talk and play dice games. As they ride they sing Happy Days are Here again.... They may practice in the park. One person has an accordian in his basket.
The woman in front, Eleanor in the skirt and tennis shoes is a real go getter. Women outlive their husbands. They join church choirs and come from California. Eleanor plays the piano. They go to churches, nursing homes and sing old songs from the past. When they relax they play card games at a lunch table and the women sew, knit and crochet in small groups. They are happy.
