The M & M Girls and Lollipop Beach
On the boardwalk about 1915 or could be late 1800's, about 1950, yea, I'll go along with that. Probably New Jersey. Lollipop Beach, go buy one!
What are they holding in their hands? Seems to be ropes on hooks. It looks like a swing, but they are rockers on Lollipop Beach.
They look like sisters. This picture reminds me of my first cousin, especially the dress. I was taller than her.
The one on the right appears to be the taller of the two. She is wearing hat taller than her. It looks like a bonnet with a poof poof on the top.
Martha and Matilda, the older one is Matilda. I think everyone is in the spirit. In the spirit of what?...Helping?
Those shoes look mighty suspicious. It might be a snake coming out of the dress. If she's a snake, she's coming out of something. It's a filigree slip.
What's in the back? It look like two feet, a child's feet. The hump hump in the back, it looks like a head.
She's laughing, the one on the right and the right one is not so pleased.
I think the hat shouldn't be there, I agree. It looks like little yellow flowers coming out of her head.
The jumper she is wearing looks like skinny straps. That's impossible, that can't hold the dress. Could be why they are wearing it, to attract the likes of men.
What now? I think they look inviting and enchanting and goofing off. They look like pictures I have of my grandma.
They feel giddy, goody two shoes. They feel like temptresses. They are 18-20 years old. I don't think that is what they should be doing...a little risqué.
Maybe interested in marriage, nah, that's too serious for them. Martha eyed a boy on the beach.
I assume you'd have the odors of hot dogs and other stuff. They are beginning to feel fearful of what they are attracting.
What about the broken chair in the back? They should turn around and ride away on their horses. They won't be riding any horses in those dresses because their corsets are falling apart!
The boys are whistling at them, that's why their fearful...you know how girls can get, giggly and things. Get off Lollipop Beach...just like that!
