Sheba was happy and excited, having a BLAST! It felt like Mardi Gras! It was Mardi Gras! She was getting down and booging, celebrating with all the party people on the street. People were taking pictures. Sheba was feeling so good she would dance with anyone who would keep up with her. She reached out for her next partner.
Sheba and the band had come from Louisville, Kentucky. Well, actually Sheba had flown from Louisville to the local airport, then got on a bus to get to the party. She didn’t come with the whole band who had taken the bus the whole way, but she knew almost all the guys in the band. They were named “The Probably Band.” The band had guitar, trumpet, horn and trombone. The Tuba Player was James Joseph. Mark Bill Thomas played the horn (that’s her husband!). The band played loud. They played all kinds of music. They left the cold weather of Louisville, for the heat of New Orleans! It was as hot as blue blazes.
Mardi Gras is a two week celebration that ends on Fat Tuesday. It was not a dance competition, but Sheba danced like she was a winner anyway.
At the end they pick up their tired selves, all the beads they collected, wrap up the instruments and go home. All the way home they continue their celebration when they weren’t sleeping on the bus.
