There is a man in a parade but the parade hasn’t caught up to him yet or maybe the parade hasn’t started yet. Joe is his name. He is the flag bearer for the parade. He may be from the Knights of Columbus or…from the FBI! It looks like he is on the streets of New York. He is in Greenwich Village. The flies are heavy and Joe wants JoAnn to come and swat them away. He is wondering what is taking her so long. He is not looking happy. He is upset because the parade hasn’t come yet. The people are all looking up the street at the parade. There are cars and the President of the United States is there. Joe is protecting him. He is mad because the people are paying more attention to the parade than him. He is wearing a shoulder holster with a .44 magnum. “Whoever messes with the President will get his”, said Joe.
Joe is involved in pole volting in his spare time. Joe is a serious person. He has a sister named Jane and a wife named Olga. He has two dogs and a cat. He doesn’t like carrying the flag. He is tired of carrying it and his is having a rest. The air is cold but not frigid. It is the month of October. It is a Patriotic Halloween parade. He is mad because he did not have a costume-he wanted to be a Rolls Royce. This year, in 1950, the president is Eisenhower and his future son-law in with him. Two FBI agents are walking towards Joe, one has a tie on and the other doesn’t to be less conspicuous. Joe cannot wait for the parade to be over! The End.
