Cinderella was having so much fun. As usual she was trying to catch the fish swimming in the Clackamas river. Cinderella had her own way of fishing; she used a butterfly net to try to swoop the shining, fast little swimmers. Laughing with the fun and excitement of her game, Cinderella got closer and closer to the river's edge. The young girl bent as far as she could, attempting to net the slippery fish; the
next thing Cinderella knew, she was underwater WITH those fishes. Still, she tried to catch them with her butterfly net, the shining silvery fishes looked like floating butterflies that could swim. When Cinderella fell into the Clackamas, two brothers, Jimmy and John were enjoying their new 'Water-Totter'. The brothers heard a SPLASH, then Jimmy felt something catch at his foot; it was a net, from UNDER the river! He looked into the gently flowing river and was amazed to see a little girl brandishing the net. Jimmy alerted John and the brothers jumped into the river, yelling for help from anyone within earshot. The brothers were able to rescue Cinderella and return her to her family that was on shore, searching for her. Jimmy and John were heroes that day. Cinderella never knew just how she was able to breathe under the river water, she just knew it had been a great adventure!
