The Tale of Two Friends
Heidi is playing. She is covered up like Superman. She belongs to me.
Her superpowers are that she likes to have someone ask her questions. Then, she barks back the answers.
Someone else that she knows, too, was asking her questions.
“Why are you walking around with a towel on?” they ask.
“For fun,” answers Heidi. For fun, she likes to walk around like she’s travelling somewhere. She wishes she could travel to her home, which is at The Bridges with me.
She was at a kennel and came up to me and said, “Take me FIRST!”
I picked her up and put her on my lap and talked to her. I was just petting her and wanting to find out if she likes to be petted. I asked, “Is she liking to be pet?” “Are you looking for a home?” Heidi answers that “yes” she does like to be petted, and “yes”, she does want to come home with me.
So, she comes home with me. The first thing that she notices at her new home is that there is room for her to play.
My husband, Gregory, is there and says, “She seems to be a nice pet.” Then he asks Heidi, “What kind of food do you eat?” Heidi answers, “Kibbles and Bits.” “Do you like to take naps?” he asks. “I rest when you’re not here”, replies Heidi. Next, she adds, “If you are wondering where I got my towels, I was getting a bath and I like the towels on me. I like the towels because they are warm and make me happy. I can play with my owner with the towel.”
“How long do you like to play with the towel?” he asks.
“I like to lay on it until I fall asleep. It makes me happy,” replies Heidi.
We also have a cat in the house. Her name is Amber. I’m not sure how the two would get along. I ask Heidi, “How would you get along with the cat?” She answers, “I’ve seen cats before, but I haven’t played with them.”
We get them together somehow and the cat is close to Heidi. I check it out. They check each other out.
Heidi thinks, this is a cat not a dog. It has a long tail. She can hear it purr. She acts like she wants to get to know the dog by not scratching or meowing. Heidi wants to try this and get along with this cat. It went pretty well. It was a good experience.
“Do you think you’d like it here?”
“I’d like to try it out,” answers Heidi.
“I think we’ll try it out!” I say.
“I’m sorta set in my ways but I’m willing to see if we can get along,” adds the cat.
