Here we have The Ten Lovely Ladies Band, an all female band made up of the ten best from a United States Music College. These talented ladies are pictured in England, having worked out with a cruise line to entertain in exchange for passage to England. They got to play their music and dance with guests afterward. The ladies do love to dance!
The Ladies were such a sensation in England they were asked to make an album at a London recording studio. This is the photograph for the album cover. Just before the photo the ladies all had their hair done at the same salon in London, The lady seated on the far left was NOT happy with her hair, but everyone else was very pleased. They are also talking about how happy they are to be here and what fun the cruise was coming over. The Ten Lovely Ladies Band plays their own mix of Country-Western Gospel music, it is quite a surprise for the new European audiences and the Ladies are asked to play and dance their way all across Europe. This was about 1960 so it was really something for these women to do this on their own. They do have a band manager from the Woodburn, Oregon church-his name is Jerry and he looks out for the ladies interests.
After their European tour, The Ten Lovely Ladies Band returns to the U.S. and is asked to tour back home. They record a live concert album in the U.S. and use the same photo because it reminds them of their wonderful beginning as an all woman band.
