It’s on a beach. It could be Atlantic City. There’s a boardwalk behind her. Or, maybe Coney Island. The back poles look like the parachute jump! That could be like 1925. Look at that outfit! You should see the bikinis today!
Look at the lady with the umbrella. Could be any of the beaches. She’s enjoying the sun! She’s happy where she is! Who couldn’t be happy at the beach on a sunny day? She does not have a suntan, so she can’t be in Florida. She looks like and Easterner. What is that on her head? Looks like a bow.
Probably got there by train or bus. The bus probably cost 25 cents. Subways in the 20s, my mother told me only cost 5 or 10 cents in Brooklyn, New York. That was in my mother’s time. We would take the ‘BMT’.
She looks like she’s in her 30s. For some reason she looks like she’s Greek. She looks happy. The sun must be hot! These are old fashioned bathing suits. She’s got hose on too! Yes, black stockings! My mother wore that in the early 20s! I was born in 1924. The girl behind her is bare legged.
People are on holiday. People are strolling. Probably happy sounds coming from up on the boardwalk!
