TOURIST AMONGST THE CHICKENS
Why has he got his arms out? He’s got his arms out to balance himself because of all the chickens, like walking on a tight rope so as not to stand on the chickens. He’s not standing on any at the moment but it’s close. He’s thinking “These chickens are in the way”.
The poultry are walking a different way to him. They may have had enough to eat.
He’s holding his bag on his back. It may have grain in it or his own lunch.
His shoulders are in a funny position.
He is in a country hotter than here. He has no boots on which is a bit silly. He has a sensible hat.
There’s a cat behind the man and it’s got a red flower ... or cotton wool.
It looks like in his left hand he is sprinkling salt and pepper.
He’s a tourist in a walking group and has got lost and wandered into a farmyard. He is trying not to tread on those chickens. They are different breeds of birds, you can tell by their sizes. There’s a Black Leghorn cockerel, Rhode Island Reds, a White Leghorn (it wants to keep its legs clean) and a Light Sussex.
They’ve got a lot more sense than people, chickens.
