This story takes place in the spring or fall in a foreign country, possibly Switzerland. The town's marching band has been playing some local music. They've been marching but have stopped at an open place in the middle of the town and have started to play some jazzy music. An unmarried career woman in her 40s, Hilda is a bit of a showoff and not afraid of making a spectacle of herself. She works in retail and is outgoing and friendly. Hilda gets into the spirit of the music, pins her key to her sweater, and starts to do her thing. A man was dancing with her but had enough after a few steps. When the song is over, everyone claps for Hilda.
