One afternoon at recess, two boys, Mitch and Michael who are both five, were fixing to fight. They weren't mad because they were both smiling. They were fighting because that's just how boys are. Mitch was the bigger boy of the two and he had started the fight. Even though Michael was smaller, he was ready to duke it out. You could hear other students behind them yelling, "come on! put them up!" Mitch and Michael were both just really trying to impress the other boys and girls. Michael takes the first punch and misses! Then Mitch hits Michael back giving him a busted, bloody nose, but Michael still swings back. One of the boys behind them picked up gravel throwing it at them to make them stop. Mitch tackles Michael to the ground and they continued to roll around and fight. Dirty and bruised, Mitch had won only because the teacher came running in and said, "Stop it right now!" She took them to the principal. The principal was very disappointed and told them they should not be fighting and called the boys' parents. He also suspended the boys for two days. Both of the boys' parents whipped them, sent them to their rooms, and wouldn't let them have sweets, and gave them more chores to do for two weeks. The boys still stayed best friends.
