two little boxers
Two children are playing as boxers and someone is checking if all is well, we are on a beach, one of them seems Paolo when he was little. The father is teaching boxing, maybe he was a boxer and he ensures that they don’t hurt. They want to be boxers when they grows up. They are children who like to partecipate, they could be 4 o5 years old and 7 or 8, they have different ages, one is younger and one older, their name is Dimitri, Raffaele (that is a big name because there’s an angel with that name) and the other is called Florindo, Pietro Paolo. Maybe these children aren’t very guarded because they are fighting; they want to measure their strength. They are swaggering, strong children. One is more dashing, the other is the “know it all” of the family, one is the most cunning. They are lively but with a good temper. One of them is Nino Benvenuti (old Italian boxer) when he was little and he’s looking back at himself. The younger falls but he doesn’t hurt. We are in Sardinia at the seaside. They have met through their dogs or playing but they also argued, this happens. They also used to play with a whirling and football. They have families that are very fond of them, who take them on the beach. One of the families come from the south and is poor, they often fight in the south. We are on the 60s, it’s spring, there are school holidays, people has just stopped working and they came to see children playing. the two families have met through the children but they think that it would be better if they don’t argue; they let the children play. Weather is fine but maybe is going to rain. We don’t know who is winning, maybe the younger because he is very committed or because he is Nino Benvenuti when he was a child, the smallest is more determined but the other is stronger. When they grow up, they ‘ll be always friends, one of them will be a champion and the other will be a bricklayer or a fisher, since they live near to the sea, they’ll both have a family. After playing they could go to study, if they want to build their life, they come back to their families and each of them says: “ my father is the best one”. You know what I’d like to tell them? “Children of now should learn from you, you are very good boys!” Or “stay calm and don’t fight!”
