Untitled Story
His name is Fred! He’s hoping it is his parcel he’s holding. He’s a postman. He looks very happy. He’s happy someone else is getting something that looks good. It’s at somebody’s front door and there is snow on the ground. He’s checking the address and knocking on the door until someone answers! There are christmas presents in the packages. Something small but expensive, like gold jewellery. It could be chocolates. There’s something written on the package and he’s laughing. The door is open and he’s reading it to someone we can’t see.
Maybe the person has a funny name, hard to pronounce. He thinks it’s very funny.
We can hear laughter, bells and it’s not in Sydney. It’s in the Snowy Mountains. He’s a singing postman, and he goes around singing Christmas Carols:
“I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know,
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white”
He’s delivering parcels to the village crank. There’s something funny on it and he is laughing thinking of how funny it will be.
The door opens and the fellow says “What are you laughing at?” “I’m laughing because I couldn’t understand why anyone would send you a present.” “This isn’t for you, these are bills!” That’s why he is laughing heartily.
