Janet, the beautiful ship built in Hungary, was headed to Philadelphia with food and supplies from Czechoslovakia. There were about twenty five people on the ship; made up of the crew members and their girlfriends.
On the fifteenth day of their journey, along came some pirates. Everyone was scared, even the men.
The pirates wanted all the rum, money, and supplies that were on the ship. They didn't want to fight, but they ended taking the crew and their girlfriends as prisoners.
The ship was left abandoned. There was a thunderstorm the next day, so it's assumed that lightning struck the ship down to the bottom of the ocean.
The pirates wrote about the prisoners and the ship, and their journals were found. They stated that some of the prisoners escaped. Some became pirates themselves. The discovery of the journals led to people searching for the ship wreck and what may be left inside.
Eventually, scientists found the shipwreck. They didn't think they'd find much, but to their surprise, something shiny was peeping through the broken wood of the ship.
The scientists ended up finding a chest full of gold, pearls, and diamonds! They shared the treasure amongst themselves and donated the rest to a museum.
