Children are interested in teddy bears, dolls, trucks and fire engines, building blocks, wood blocks, doll beds. Roller skates for the older kids, jumping ropes, baseball and football, and basketball. Coloring blocks and sometimes televisions make things the most interesting. Games make things even better: ring around the Rosie, farmer in the dell, make believe with toy soldiers as they build their own war, red rover, Go Fish or old maid when we have a pack of cards, Tic Tac Toe, Eucher, Checkers, and chess. Learning how to fish, picking pea pods and string beans so we can learn how to garden, learn how to sit still and listen in church, knowing when to say your pleas and thank yous, learning how to share makes life a bit easier too. Learning your colors and stay in lines! Learn how to make cookies, pop your own popcorn so your parents have a break, learning your chores so your mom doesn't tell you twice.
