You Can Have a Big House But Without A Crop You’ve Got Nothin’

These are houses
It’s not in Russia because there it’s all the same because of Communism.
It looks like my village, Millrise! (laughing)

They came from all over the world to settle.
There’s a store over there.
When I was at the farm I rode on a horse 3 miles to school and back. There was a barn to put the horse in.
We raised chickens and grew wheat.
We milked the cows in the barn and let them out after.
The cows go in the barn at night and out in the morning. By themselves.
I’ve never been on a farm. This is very educational.
They have a windmill to pump the water. If the wind did not blow they had to manually pump water.
(What did they do for fun?)
It depends if you enjoy a farm.
In Russia they make butter and share it. No fun.
We chased the geese and then they get mad and go ‘HONK HONK’
Sat in a snowbank. I was very young so I could do what I wanted.
(What kinds of sounds do you hear? )
Moo - Cows calling. Moo. Honk – Chickens - Cluck cluck cluck - And pigs
Cows and pigs and chickens. It’s a big place. A three story home, basement, main floor and three bedrooms upstairs.
Cows, chickens, horses, Ducks. You name it, I’ve heard it!
Turkeys
The turkey gobblers used to chase me.
Well it looks like my farm. Cows, chickens.
Fields of wheat
The house looks very prosperous, a doctor could live there.
I can smell bread baking. And cinnamon buns.
The milkman gets up early to deliver the milk. About 4am.
Alberta’s a big place from mountains to Prairie.
Yes they are prosperous, probably from milk.
It was an awful lot of fun branding calves.
The best part of a farm for children is the room to play.
And work!
One year we had a really good crop and then the army worms took them all away. They sound like men marching, that’s why they are called army worms. Another year the grasshoppers took the crops. There were so many that the trains couldn’t run because the tracks were so slippery with their bodies.
They must be very rich, because they have a big house, compared to houses in the Philippines.
Country town – the children should be educated.
