He doesn’t look very young! His name is Eddie Wheat. He’s reading the "Hey You" newspaper and wiping the perspiration off his face. The sun must be beating down on him, which means that he’s working very hard outside. He’s a farmer that grows whole wheat on his ranch in Iowa. This is in the 70s and it’s summer.
Eddie has a family: a wife named Evelyn and four children – two boys, and two girls. But he may not have a family for long, because the way that he’s wiping his perspiration off his face...it isn’t very flattering!
It looks like it would smell there. You can’t smell the wheat, because it’s covered, but you can smell that Eddie has been drinking beer. (That’s why he’s perspiring so much.) Hopefully, the wind will blow over him so people don’t have to smell him. And, because Eddie eats and drinks so much food, he’s also belching.
But Eddie has an expression on his face that he’s thinking about how to make life more special for his family.
(That’s some kind of necktie! Maybe he’s trying to figure out how to make himself look even screwier than he looks now!) Actually, Eddie’s getting ready for a business party on his ranch. Some people that own businesses will be at the party: a good many, but not a tremendous amount. Maybe 20 people.
After the party, Eddie’s family will be surprised because he’ll go to Paris all by himself.
