Andrew Morton is a queer immigrant, playwright, and theatre-maker based in Detroit. As the founding producing artistic collaborator at Every Soul Arts, he leads healing-centered creative programming for unhoused youth, including the award-winning Sofa Stories project. Andrew’s facilitation expertise extends across the lifespan; in addition to his extensive work with older adults through TimeSlips, he is a lead facilitator with Telling It, an Expressive Arts program for justice-involved youth housed at the University of Michigan’s Residential College. An accomplished playwright, Andrew’s plays have been produced across the US and internationally, and his play Bloom, a story of intergenerational relationships and urban gardening, is published by Dramatic Publishing. His contributions to the field have been recognized with a Kresge Artist Fellowship and a Kennedy Center Gold Medallion. In 2024, American Theatre Magazine named him one of “six Detroit theatre workers you should know.”
