The ship leaves the harbor, and on it is a young family. A woman, a mother, a man, a father, and a young child of about four. The child keeps looking at the shore, wondering if he is safe. The father looks ahead, to the horizon, wanting a new beginning. The mother is pensive, hoping to meet the needs of her terrified son.
The woman, the mother, worries about the weather, she fears the storm is not safe. She keeps a lookout for land behind her and hopes it will not disappear.
The man, the father, breathes deeply and swallows the salty air. His hair blows in the wind, he seems almost careless to the mother and child.
The child speaks: "Where are we going? I'm cold, hungry, and tired". The woman, the mother, holds him close. She looks to the man, the father, for an answer, but he is not able to give one.
The woman would like to return home.
The man wants to move ahead.
The weather may hold out.
Are they safe?
