Little Boy Lost
A story by Betty, Joan, Nancy, Margo , Gwladys and Eve
Headwell House, January 2024
He’s going for a bus or a tram, he’s got his case
Yes, that is what I said, It’s good
I think it’ll be a train
He’s determined anyway, looking for his Mum
He’s kind of lost, looking for his Mummy
I would think he’d have his clothes and toys in his case, wherever he is going on holiday perhaps?
I dinnae ken where he is going, to the beach probably
And there’s a café for food!
I don’t know if that is a train or building in the background
I cannae make it out
His Mum is in the Ladies’
He was told to stay there til she came back and he’s walking away!
Mum comes out for the Ladies -she can’t find him
I didn’t ken him so I didn’t speak to him
Mum panics and tries to find someone to help
Mum is upset wondering what happened to him
His name is Billy
A porter found him and the only thing I can think of..
Is they took him to the Lost Property
Now I’m struck!
Billy is frightened, very unhappy
He wants a policeman to find his Mum
Nancy wants a policeman in our story!
The policeman is very helpful, and he gives Billy a sweetie and a drink.
Mum is turning the station upside down looking for Billy
The Policeman radios for help
I cannae think what happens next?
More policemen show up!!!
They get a description of the wee boy
Billy
Fair Hair
3 years old
He has a stick and a navy-blue jacket
Black Trousers
Brown shoes or sandals
By the looks of it anyway
Mum hears the commotion!
“please find my little boy”
“we will do our best” say the policemen
Billy is crying and asking for his Mum
Peek- A-Boo
I see You!!
Said Mum
Billy says “Mum!!”
And runs to her like the wind!
The End
