Macaroni & Cheese Mom

Kraft macaroni and cheese tasted the best when my mom made it in our kitchen in the summertime. The best batches were the ones where my mom did not forget the noodles on the stove and overcook them. We would laugh whenever she overcooked the pasta because of how often she did it. She's forgetful and easily distracted, just like her daughter. School friends would always tell my mom that her mac & cheese was the best. My mom said she always used a "special ingredient", and that's why it tasted so good. Looking back, I think her "special ingredient" was just an absurd amount of butter, and ice cold 2% milk. But it was so special in those moments. The other thing that she was great at making in the summertime was purple kool-aid. I think she made that taste so much better was how much of the purple sugar powder she put into the pitcher, she put it in until the kool-aid was the darkest purple you've ever seen. Delcious!
