The Mountains that Spoke

If I could be anywhere in the world, I would be on top of a mountain. Not a rocky mountain like the ones here in Canada, but like the mountains back home where my dad would take us near Afghanistan. The ones with so much greenery and life. Mountains filled with little villages and rosy-cheeked kids. Mountains that wrapped around mountains and rivers that ran through them like arteries on an arm. Mountains that spoke at night and looked so mighty. Where the crisp air could be felt in your bones. Where the morning sun erased the freezing night. I would want to hike all the way to the top and think about how life was way more than just the materialistic things I'm used to. I would go alone because I enjoy my own company. There's something about feeling so human on a mountain. How majestic it is and how small you are. I can't find that feeling anywhere else in the world except for on a mountain,
