Stories from Around the World
What does joy mean to you?
Joy is...
-being with my children and grandchildren.
-having my family together.
-love.
-going to church.
-being together with all the family.
-happiness.
Joy sounds like...
-Christmas!
-grandchildren playing.
-music!
-At Thanksgiving it sounds like thanking God for being together.
-At Christmas it sounds like (singing):
"Joy to the World! The Lord is Come:
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
and heaven and nature sing
and heaven and nature sing
and heaven and heaven and nature sing"
-children laughing.
-life.
-love.
Joy feels like...
-warmth and loving.
-that you're wanted.
-smiling.
-happiness.
-being together.
Joy looks like...
-sunshine.
-a smile on your face.
-happiness.
-children.
-something beautiful.
-Christmas trees!
-family together...just togetherness.
There are so many memories that have brought us joy:
-main thing is my husband of 10 years and our twin sons.
-hearing that you have a brand new great-granddaughter-Oh! (hand to heart)...makes you feel like rockin' in the treetops!
-sitting around the fireplace with your family and singing.
-Just talking to one another.
-remembering the beauty of the past.
-all the food at Christmas.
-Celebrating Christmas and my birthday.
-remembering friends from high school.
-when I was baptized. I was 10. It was so, so special to me.
-everyone has love, love, love.
We are blessed with a lot of memories!
Happiness.
Friendliness.
Joy is love.
