From the Desk of Jackie Kostichka

As the TimeSlips community continues to grow, we’re introducing you to each of our team members and highlighting the work that benefits YOUR creative engagement. From managing myriad details of member requests, creating content for communications, to individual training and large-scale organizational partnerships, these are the faces behind the TimeSlips team. It’s our joy to get to know you, and for you to get to know us!

This week we would like to introduce you to Jackie Kostichka.

What’s your role at TimeSlips and how long have you been with them?
I have been a Program Manager and Certified Trainer for TimeSlips since February 2023.

I have also been with TimeSlips through several projects over the years such as Stage Right from 2014-2016, SAIR from 2015-2016 at Milwaukee Catholic Home, Moving Images in 2016, Presented about my experience as a SAIR at the Leading Age conference in 2016, Moving Images presentation at the Alzheimer’s Association conference in 2017, and as an artist for the Milwaukee Tele-Stories Projects in 2021 and 2022-2023!

What is one project you’ve been working on lately that benefits TimeSlips’ community?
I have been working closely with the Friends & Family project and translating the free materials to Spanish so we can expand our reach to a larger community. I have also been working with the Tele-Stories projects as I am an artist in the Milwaukee Tele-Stories project and will help train new artists in Buffalo, NY on Tele-Stories.

What would be your perfect day off?
My perfect day off would be 75-80 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. I will be laying on a hammock by a river/lake/ocean, and taking a nap with my puppy. Some food I would like to have on my perfect day off would be tacos al pastor, and for dessert would be cookies-n-cream gelato or rainbow sherbert ice cream.

What’s one thing people might not know about you?
I love to dance! I not only am a dance/movement therapist, but have performed professionally as a folkloric Mexican dancer and as a Latin/African/Afro-Caribbean-style dancer in the Milwaukee area.
